Spring Term - Issue 70

{item_alt_tag}

Dear Parents and Carers,

Year 6 have been superstars this week and have faced their SATS with big smiles on their faces and an “I can” attitude. We are very proud of all of their hard work this week and hope that you enjoy a relaxing weekend!

Thank you to Year 5 for leading collective worship on Tuesday for the school and your families. You really helped us all to reflect on the choices we can make – we can choose the wide easy path or the narrow trickier path. You sang a beautiful version of the Our Father which we all loved and want to learn!

On Wednesday afternoon our choir took part in a fantastic choral afternoon that ended with a performance for families at St. Joseph’s Church in Guildford. The children had a lovely afternoon and enjoyed singing with other schools – St. Joseph’s, St. Polycarp’s and St. Edmund’s. A big thank you to the parents for transporting the children to Guildford and Mrs Chalstrey and Mr Ellson.

Thank you to the families that participated in the CAFOD Big Walk. We were truly blessed with the weather on Sunday! The children and families enjoyed the walk along with clues to gather along the way.

Total raised for CAFOD: £360.50!

A big thank you to The Friends of St. Cuthbert Mayne for their help with organising the event and providing refreshments for the thirsty and hungry walkers! Thank you also to the Parish for allowing us to use the Parish Rooms.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs. Amy O’Donovan

Annual School Travel Survey 2025 - From Surrey Travel Team

https://www.surreysays.co.uk/safer-travel/primary-school-travel-2025

The objective of this research is to assist us as we continue to develop a better understanding of the different types of travel used to and from school, and to ascertain if this is changing over time.  The Safer Travel Team’s goal is to assist schools to continue to encourage safer and more active ways of travelling to school.

To encourage parents to take part, we are offering a charity incentive for participation – we will donate £25 for every 100 surveys completed to a charity that the parent will choose from either Momentum Children’s Charity or Orchid Environmental Trust.

Thank you in advance for your help.
