Dear Parents and Carers,
What a wonderful morning we had at Glebelands today, celebrating Key Stage Two’s Sports Day. It was wonderful to see the children so focused, determined and aiming high! The children’s sportsmanship was also noted – especially how they congratulated one another on their successes and supported those who were disappointed. A big thank you to Ms. Robson and Mr. Good for organising everything and ensuring the morning ran so smoothly! We were very grateful to the Glebelands students who helped with scoring and to Glebelands school for generously allowing us to use their grounds. I will make sure the photos taken are shared with you as soon as possible.

We did send out communication about the KS1 Sports Day arrangements earlier. Please could I add that parents need to remain for the duration of the event as the Glebelands site needs to be safe and secure for their students.
Year 4 and 5 had sessions this week with Dan Newman who leads on Health and Wellbeing within the Xavier trust. Year 5 are working on a project called Disconnect to Connect and Year 4 are looking at Healthy Eating. We will be sending out information to invite the parents of these year groups to presentations the children will lead for you based on their learning.
Have a lovely weekend and Happy Father’s day on Sunday,
Mrs. Amy O’Donovan

Collective Worship
This week we explored Pentecost in collective worship and we tried to think about what we can do to follow in the disciples’ footsteps and spread the Good News across the world! The children had great ideas about the ripple affect just telling the person next to us could have or how through charity work we can touch the lives of others, especially by supporting charities such as CAFOD or Mary’s Meals. We really thought about why we should support charities as Catholics – yes, it is a good thing to do but we are called to this service by God.

The remarkable growth of generative AI tools like ChatGPT has opened up exciting new opportunities for young learners. Used wisely, AI can be a powerful ally in boosting creativity, learning and problem-solving skills. However, without proper guidance, young people may stumble into challenges including inaccurate information, data security risks, and a growing reliance on AI over their own critical thinking.
From setting clear usage boundaries to teaching digital hygiene and promoting independent thought, this guide offers parents and educators practical advice on the safe, positive use of AI. With the right understanding and guidance, you can ensure that generative AI becomes a positive influence, rather than a potential pitfall in young people’s digital lives.
