We want all children to develop handwriting that is fluent, legible and efficient, enabling them to communicate their ideas confidently.

We use the Read Write Inc. approach to handwriting. Beginning in the Foundation Stage, children learn correct letter formation and develop the fine motor skills needed for writing. These foundations are carefully developed as children progress through the school, with increasing emphasis on fluency, consistency and presentation.

Handwriting is taught and practised regularly, and children are encouraged to take pride in the presentation of their work across the curriculum.
